This means 77% of all travelers who have visited Long Beach Lodge Resort and posted a review on Trip Advisor have rated their experience as being “Excellent.”There was a time when a resort, restaurant, hotel or auto dealership would purchase an advertisement in the newspaper on radio or television to deliver their message. The business owner shaped the message and provided the value proposition: better food, better beds, more speed, better financing.
Consumers and customers took the business owner’s word for it and booked their stay, purchased their vehicle, went out for dinner.
If the food was great, rooms were clean and quiet and food was delicious, the happy consumer shared their happy stories with friends and family during conversations. If the food was bad, rooms were dirty and noisy and food was poor, the unhappy consumer shared their frustrations with friends and family.

My how times have changed. Media, these days, goes two-ways.
The same business owner who use traditional media to promote and advertise their business is met by customers who use social media sharing their experiences, impressions, disappointments and glowing reviews.
Business owners, these days, must stay light on their feet and ensure goods-and-services are flawless and meeting customers’ expectations.
In the travel and hospitality industry, such as Long Beach Lodge Resort resides, we are acutely aware of and actively track and engage visitor and customer feedback over social media like Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Trip Advisor. Through these two-way platforms, we learn a lot about individual experiences and gather information on common trends, concerns and endorsements: if we are doing something wrong we identify and correct it; if we are doing something right we want to make sure we continue doing it.
For many in the travel and tourism industry, Trip Advisor is crucial. The site has become a crucial hub for travelers reviewing destinations and a sounding board for travelers to share their brickbats and bouquets. For those of you who have shared your stories and personal reviews on Trip Advisor: we very grateful. Your endorsements and, in some instances complaints, are carefully considered and we endeavour to respond in a timely manner. In fact, Long Beach Lodge Resort owner Tim Hackett insists on responding to reviews himself. Complaints and concerns are reviewed and addressed by management and brought to staff responsible. Systems and operations at Long Beach Lodge Resort have been modified and improved based on feedback we have received through Trip Advisor, Facebook, Twitter and other forums.We encourage you to keep letting us – and other travelers – know how we are doing. Of course we love the accolades but we also need the critiques. This is how we will remain the best reviewed property on Vancouver Island.
