I hope that you have had a wonderful holiday season, celebrating with family and friends. It is amazing, after all the preparation, how quickly the season comes and goes!

I am always so grateful for the good fortune to be living in such a wonderful place on earth. This year again, I think about all the men, women, and children living terrible lives currently in distant places. It is a great privilege to welcome and assist people arriving in Canada to start a new life, including some wonderful young people coming to our resort.

It is interesting that after some beautiful fall beach weather, we are now suddenly into storm season! In December, we have already experienced some furious winter storms.

Several storms have been so severe that the District of Tofino has had to close the beaches, fearing for people's safety. The power of a winter storm is a sight to behold. The Lodge, built so close to the open ocean, is Tofino’s premier location to observe what nature can throw at us. Again this winter, we hope a storm will not wash the Lodge away!

In addition to our other specials, I wish to announce a special, close to my heart. February is Pet Appreciation Month. We really love our VIP (Very Important Pets) so much that we have decided, in consultation with my pup Maisy, to dedicate a month to celebrate them. Bring your four-legged family member with you and enjoy some unique touches catered especially for them:

Pets stay for free in February.

Special treats for our furry friends.
Shopping at our Gift Shop for specials for your pup.

We are a proud supporter of the Care Network, a nonprofit organization on the west coast supporting animal rescue and outreach. For every dog that visits during February, we will contribute $50 on their behalf to the Care Network.

Brought friends to the west coast for the first time. Overwhelmed by the views & vibe of Tofino!! ❤️ "One of the best “experience” hotels we’ve stayed in"

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a 14 day road-trip from Ireland and all I can say is that it was absolutely amazing. The staff were all so welcoming, friendly and attentive. We stayed in room 313 which was on the top floor overlooking the beach with a balcony. Truth be told, the hotel was so good we didn’t venture far over the 3 days, instead opting to just “relax” at the hotel walking the beach or sitting outside at the gas fires taking in the ambience and the surfers catching the waves. The food and service in the restaurant was amazing, I would even go so far to say it was the best food we’ve had in a long time at a hotel! If having food at the hotel, make sure you book a table at the restaurant before 6pm and maybe even arrive a little early. They will not reserve the window seats, but to get the best view of the sunset over the pacific - trust me, it’s where you want to be sitting. Cocktails were also very good. If getting a snack during the day you can get it at the Surf Club which is a few steps from the main building. After dinner we just retired to the bedroom with the gas fires going, patio doors open and enjoying a bottle of wine while listening to the waves crash on the beach. We didn’t do breakfast at the hotel any of the mornings as we wanted something “light” opting instead for the delights from the cafe & bakery Tofitian just a few minutes up the road. As an “experience”, it was hands down one of the best hotels I’ve visited in Canada/US. The team should be very proud. "Wonderfull resort"

We have been staying at this resort since it opened and it never disappoints. Location is great, rooms are comfortable and the food is very good. The great room has an amazing view and is very relaxing.
