Go for a hike - With the weather warming up, spring is a perfect time to hit the trails. Check out the Rainforest Trail or the Wild Pacific Trail for beautiful coastal scenery and lush rainforest landscapes.
Surfing - The spring season brings warmer waters and good swells, making it a great time to hit the waves. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, our Surf Club offers lessons and rentals to get you started.
Whale watching - Spring is the perfect time to spot gray whales, humpback whales, and even orcas as they migrate through our waters. Take a boat tour or go kayaking to get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures.
Beachcombing - Tofino is home to some of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the world. Spend an afternoon walking along the shoreline, searching for shells, driftwood, and other treasures that have washed ashore.
Cycling- Cycling around Tofino can be a great way to explore the area and experience its natural beauty. You’ll see it when you arrive here. With people commuting to work, surfers cycling to and from beaches, and families rolling in colourful packs, Tofino is a pedal-friendly place. The Multi-Use Path winds for 8.8 kilometres along Highway 4, connecting the town centre to the beaches, plus extending beyond the Tofino Visitor Centre by Cox Bay Beach, to Pacific Rim National Park Reserve and the 25-kilometre ʔapsčiik t̓ašii (ups-cheek ta-shee) pathway.
Hot Springs Cove - Remote, rustic and hot ... Although we can't guarantee wildlife sightings on this adventure, you have an excellent chance to see a lot of different wildlife. Once disembarking at the dock in Hot Springs Cove, you will follow the historic cedar boardwalk through an enchanting rain forest (1.5 km). At the end of this incredible walk lies a succession of natural geothermal hot spring pools, a cascading waterfall and a stunning view of the mighty pacific ocean – an amazing day trip for all ages!

"Fantastic family trip"

This lodge was perfect for our family of 5 during our Tofino visit. It's about 10 minutes south of Tofino on beautiful Cox Bay, which was perfect for our kids to play frisbee and volleyball on the beach. Even in bad weather we spent time out on the beach. The cottage was perfect for us and felt really roomy. Dinner in the Great Room was wonderful and all the staff was so pleasant. This was the most pet-friendly place we've been to in a while. Fantastic visit. "West Coast at its Best!"

Another weekend at Long Beach Lodge resort and it never disappoints. From hanging out in the Great Room, to relaxing in your room watching the waves roll in, always an amazing experience. "Another Great Stay!"

We've been taking winter breaks in Tofino/Ucluelet for almost 20 years and enjoy the lack of crowds and ability to beach walk & experience some awesome winter storms. Long Beach Lodge makes a great base as we take our 2 labs and book one of the a dog friendly rooms on the ground floor that have walk out to the beach and a great view. This year was no exception with no rain while we were there and 2 days of storm force winds that made for great breaking surf. The room was great as always, staff all excellent and we ate 2 nights in the restaurant enjoying great meals and good beer both nights. An added plus was a new bank of 8 Level2 EV chargers (CCS) by the entrance with complimentary charging for guests, so keeping the car charged for drives to hiking locations and in prep for out return home was totally painless.
