Friday Feature Footslog
Find out where the locals are doing it!
WHAT THE HECK IS FOOTSLOGGING? |
TO WALK OR MARCH FOR A LONG DISTANCE, TYPICALLY WEARILY OR WITH EFFORT. |
What we love most about this featured hike is that you can customize your distance depending on how much energy you’re willing to exert. You can spend an hour and see the view or turn your adventure into a full day excursion.
Where are we going?
Pacific Rim National Park Reserve: Schooner Cove
How are we getting there?Just a short drive south of Tofino, just past the entrance signs for the Pacific Rim National Park, you’ll find the well-marked parking lot on the right side. The trailhead starts at the left corner of the lot where we were greeted by some menacing signs. We were unclear about the messaging and questioned the legitimacy but exercised caution none-the-less. |
What do we need to know? This trail is comprised of a narrow wooden boardwalk that meanders down into a valley and through the trees. Regardless of weather, the wood can be quite slick so good shoes/boots are recommended. Boardwalk bonus is that you are elevated from the mud-bogs beneath the planks, keeping your footwear dry and clean. |
Away we go!
