Pedalling the Peninsula
We've got a new way to play during your stay! The District of Tofino recently announced the completion of the Multi-Use Path (MUP) Extension Project that will soon connect the walking/cycling path from the downtown core to the shores of Long Beach.
This freshly paved section brings us one step closer to completion, providing a healthy and adventurous journey to the beach. This ultimate scenic route weaves through the temperate rainforests and over salmon spawning creeks within the traditional territory of the Tla-o-qui-aht First Nation. The newest addition of the trail starts right at the entrance to the Lodge. Turn left and you'll find the shops, eateries, and galleries. Turning right will lead you on a quiet 2.8km cruise through groves of giant trees, past various ecosystems and right to the northern boundary of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve (PRNPR). Now in it's final stages, the nearly completed ?apsc?iik t?as?ii (pronounced ups-cheek ta-shee) destination trail will complete the coastal network through to the southern boundary of the Park and eventually connect to Ucluelet's MUP. This trail will certainly be a draw for many reasons and we can't wait for it to be finished and for you to check it out when it's done!
